Hey there! I’m Becca Grieb.
I accidentally fell into the world of communications ten years ago. I had always been a creative person and in 2005 I started a blog – before social networking sites took over and changed how we communicate. By 2007 my blog had about 10,000 views a month. I started getting messages from people I didn’t even know, and that’s when I realized that I could use my writing, digital media, and relationship building skills to form a career.
In 2008 I was modelling at a photoshoot (yes, that’s the one below). The man directing the photoshoot was Stephen Young, an experienced marketing professional and the Director of Marketing for the Sun Life Financial Waterloo Busker Carnival. We got to talking and I told Steve I was just starting out in the field and wanted to learn as much as possible about the world of marketing communications. Steve invited me to join the Busker Carnival’s committee, leading public relations and social media. He took me under his wing helping me to grow my skills while I used my own knowledge to develop and manage the social media strategy for the carnival. I’ve been working hard ever since to learn and grow as much as possible.
The rest is history!
I’m passionate, curious and get the job done. I believe that people and their stories are at the core of everything they do. I started working in communications to do exactly that – to help businesses connect with their customers and share their stories.
